WHY SHOULD I TEACH MY BABY SIGN LANGUAGE?
Learning to sign will open a whole new level of communication that is fun and useful.
Research proves that babies who learn to sign actually speak earlier and have shown positive benefits for both language and cognitive development. Learning baby sign language also builds confidence, self-esteem, and social/emotional skills. Early and better communication will show many effective results, one of which is reducing or possibly avoiding unnecessary frustrations and tantrums!
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Many things will influence how long it will take for your baby to sign. It is impossible to say when your baby will begin to sign just as you don't know when your baby will begin to crawl. The level of interest your baby has in wanting to sign will depend on how and when you teach a sign. Babies 6 - 9 months are still learning their coordination and memory skills while babies 10+ months are at a further developmental stage.
