Baby Sign Language DVD

So now you're a parent and you are thinking of adopting the use of baby sign language.  Or this may be your second child and you have already experienced some simple use of signs with your first child and want to expand your knowledge with your growing family.

Infants have a desire to communicate, why not use their natural gestures and develop a fun easy way of early communication.

Before you start, write down any gestures you and your baby are already using.  Without realizing it there may be many nonverbal gestures, like: nodding head "yes" or "no", blowing kisses, lifting arms to be picked up, etc.

It's never too early or too late to start signing.  Most babies develop motor and memory skills to start signing when they are 6 - 10 months old.

Many parents buy a baby sign language DVD or many books to learn what you can learn very easily with my printable dictionary and flashcards.

You may have noticed that your baby loves to watch repetitive movement, like watching your ceiling fan.  You probably have even pointed to the fan and moved your finger around like the fan.  Well surprise!  You have taken the first step in signing and you probably didn't even realize.  This is what I mean by making your simple daily tasks a natural occurrence and you have now turned it into an opportunity to learn sign language with your baby.

Clapping is very similar to the sign for MORE.  You can transform this gesture.  Reinforce this by giving your baby a small snack.  You sign and say, "Do you want MORE"?  Say and do the sign each time you give a piece of snack until they imitate you.  Repeat several times.  At the end of snack time you have taught your baby an unintentional new sign.

Make signing a family affair.  The more your baby sees people using signs the more your baby will want to learn.  Motivate your family by sharing the excitement of your ability to understand your baby's wants and needs.  Once you get everyone involved and your baby is gradually increasing his/her sign language skills, the enthusiasm spreads naturally.

You have learned so much already just by becoming aware of your baby's surrounding and of what your baby is gesturing for and you can learn how easily you can turn this into a fun and bonding experience while learning to communicating baby's wants and needs without the use of baby sign language DVD.

With the printable 36 word dictionary and flashcards available on my website you can quickly learn and develop an incredible bond with your baby while communicating with your baby before speech.  click here
